Hello My Name Is...

Ms. McAllister

Hello, my name is Ms. McAllister and I will be teaching World History and Intro to U.S. Women's Studies this year. This year poses many "news" and "firsts" for many of you with a new building and for a lot of you the new experience of being in High School. I am excited to take this journey with you.
A little but about me is I was born and raised in a small town in Michigan and attended the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor where I earned a B.A. in Political Science and a B.A. in History. My goals for this year are to create a fun and engaging classroom environment and to find the parts of history that each of my students can connect with. It is my belief that everyone has a part of history they can connect with and I strive to make my classes as relevant and interesting as I can for my students. My belief is that history is NOT boring, but we have ensure we are engaging each student! This year I will be teaching Intro to U.S. Women's Studies in addition to World History. I look forward to teaching about women who have been forgotten from history.

Please do not hesitate to reach out to me with any questions or concerns! I look forward to a great school year!

"The function of education is to teach one to think intensively and to think critically. Intelligence plus character–that is the goal of true education" - Martin Luther King, Jr.
