MRS. JENNIFER HENLEY
2021-2022 TEACHER OF THE YEAR
Jennifer Henley, Morrow High School's 2021-2022 Teacher of the Year is in her 23rd year of teaching, her 21st here at Morrow High School. She grew up in Buffalo, New York and is a product of the Buffalo Public Schools, graduating from City Honors School in 1991.
Her undergraduate degree is from the State University of New York, college at Brockport where in 1995, she earned a Bachelor's of Science with a double major in History and American Studies, along with a minor in Political Science. She moved to Atlanta in 1995, attending Georgia State University for her Master's in Education.
Mrs. Henley serves as Morrow High School's Social Studies Department Chair, the Gifted Lead Teacher, and one of Morrow High School's designated faculty for Morrow's Magnet Program. She currently teaches Advanced Placement Government and Politics, Advanced Placement Seminar (Capstone Program), and Gifted/Honors United States History. Additionally, she teaches Advanced Placement Human Geography and each June she serves as a scorer and table leader for the AP Human Geography exam.
The activities Mrs. Henley currently serves as an advisor for are National Honor Society, Mock Trial, and Morrow High School's Georgia Student Ambassadors. In the past she has served as Prom Coordinator, Senior Class Sponsor, Junior Class Sponsor, Swim Coach for both middle and high school, System High School Swim Program Coordinator, and World Quest Sponsor to name just a few of the ways Mrs. Henley has served both the school and school system community.
