
Mr. Hargett has been teaching since 1992, but started teaching for Morrow High School in 1997. When asked about how he felt about his students,
Mr. Hargett replied with “I care. They know I care. I may give tough love, but it is to motivate them.”
Mr. Hargett has revealed that he started teaching in order to give back to the community and that the students needed a positive black male role model in their life.
Mr. Hargett later said that he thinks he received the Teacher of the Year award because his coworkers respect and see his hard work.
He has also said that being a teacher is important because it is a way to give back and mold future leaders.
Lastly, Mr. Hargett believed that his sense of humor helps him relate to his students.
